Man of the Shroud Exhibition
On Monday 28th July, the Junior Joeys visited the Man of the Shroud Exhibition. This exhibition explored a replica of the Shroud of Turin, a cloth believed by many to have wrapped the body of Jesus after His crucifixion.
The students learned about what science, scripture, and history tell us about the shroud. They looked at evidence and different points of view to better understand its story and significance.
It was a great opportunity for the Junior Joeys to reflect on their faith, ask thoughtful questions, and explore how faith and science can work together.
Visit from Sister Carmel
This week, we were lucky to have Sr Carmel, a Sister of St Joseph, visit our school. She spoke to our staff and students about the inspiring lives of Mary MacKillop and Julian Tenison Woods, the founders of the Sisters of St Joseph.
With Mary MacKillop's Feast Day tomorrow, Sr Carmel helped us learn more about how Mary and Julian lived out the Josephite values we follow at SHU: Compassion, Inclusion, Sustainability, Honesty, and Gratefulness.
Our Junior Joeys also had a special session with Sr Carmel. Together, they talked about ways they can show these values in their daily lives—both at school and in the wider community.
